Travel and Accommodation Guide to Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University

By Air
Nearest Airport: Khon Kaen International Airport (KKC), located approximately 5–7 km from the university.
Airlines: Daily flights from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi BKK and Don Mueang DMK), as well as direct regional flights.
From Airport to Faculty of Education:
Taxi / Grab: Approximately 15–20 minutes. Fare: 150–200 THB.
Khon Kaen City Bus (Green Line): Routes from the airport to the university entrance (Maliwan Rd.). From there, you can take a free university shuttle bus (KST)
By Train
Departure: Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal (Bangkok).
Arrival: Khon Kaen Railway Station.
From Railway Station to Faculty of Education:
Taxi / Grab: 15–20 minutes. Fare: 100–150 THB.
Tuk-Tuk: Negotiable fare (approx. 80–120 THB).
Songthaew (Local Mini-bus): Route 8 passes through the university. Fare: 15 THB.
By Bus

Departure: Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal (Bangkok).

Arrival: Khon Kaen Bus Terminal 3 (BKS 3) – Located on the outskirts of the city.

From Bus Terminal 3 to Faculty of Education:

Taxi / Grab: 20–30 minutes. Fare: 150–250 THB.

Khon Kaen City Bus: Connects BKS 3 to the city center and the university.

Local Transport Within the University
The Faculty of Education is located in the central zone, near the Main Library and the “Complex” food center.
KKU Smart Transit (KST): Free shuttle buses operate within the campus. Take the Blue Line or Orange Line to stop at the Faculty of Education or nearby landmarks.
Mobile App: Download the “KKU Transit” app (available on iOS/Android) to track shuttle bus locations in real-time.
Recommended Accommodation
For the most convenient access to the Faculty, we recommend staying within the university area or the “Kangsadan” zone:
1. On-Campus Hotels
Bayasita @KKU: The official university hotel. Located near the Kangsadan Gate, it is the most convenient option (5-minute drive to the faculty).

Kwan Mor Hotel: Budget-friendly university-managed accommodation.
2. Nearby Hotels (Off-Campus)
Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre: A premium 5-star hotel located near the university campus.
The Charm Boutique Resort: A cozy resort located in the Kangsadan area with quick access to the university.
V Wish Hotel: A modern hotel in the city center (10–15 minutes from the university).
3. Budget-Friendly Options (Serviced Apartments)
Numerous small hotels and apartments are available in the Kangsadan and Lang Mor (Back of the University) areas, ranging from 500–900 THB per night (e.g., Romantic Khon Kaen or Bed Loft Hotel).
Note: If you are attending a conference at the Faculty of Education, staying at Bayasita @KKU or hotels in the Kangsadan zone is highly recommended to avoid morning city traffic.
